Tabletop role-playing games (or RPG’s) provide a rich environment for group storytelling. Bija’s director, Keith Kempis, has once again invited me to lead the Storytelling workshop on behalf of Role Play Experience, in support of this year’s teacher trainees. The workshop engages new yoga teachers with the basic elements of the story template, The Hero’s Journey, that can be applied to their understanding of the narrative within The Bhagavad Gita. The workshop also provided techniques to help teachers recognise that they - and their students - are the Heroes of their own journey, and to apply the lessons when nurturing students in their own classes.
